BREAKING: A new case of ebola has been confirmed in Liberia just weeks before it was due to be declared free of the disease.

Ebolaer  - satenawThe acting head of the country’s ebola case management team Dr Francis Carte told the BBC that a woman who was taken into a treatment centre on Thursday has tested positive for the virus.

Two weeks ago the last known ebola patient was discharged from a treatment centre in the capital Monrovia. The country then had 42 days before it could be declared free of the virus according to World Health Organisation guidelines.
