Perth Ethiopians celebrate the “Tikur Qen” New Year (Part 1)

Perth Ethiopians celebrate the “Tikur Qen” New Year (Part 1)100’s of Ethiopians in Perth, Western Australia, tonight braved a cold night and celebrated the “Tikur Qen” New Year at the Australia Asia Hall answering the call of the Unity Of Ethiopians in WA (Inc.) for a candle light vigil and celebration of unity. Many faith and community leaders spoke from the heart and prayed and sang for a speedy resolution of the crisis in Ethiopia.

Poets lamented and condemned the tplf regime which is exacting an untold misery and abuse at this most special festive day of Ethiopian culture.

Komos Gerima Aniley Tesfaye gave a heartfelt speech condemning the church hierarchy and clergy in Ethiopia for not standing up to the evil of the tplf regime against innocent unarmed citizens. He encouraged the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church take a stand and condemn all evil. He advised those present to be united and stand steadfast to bring about a meningful change in Ethiopia.
